What is Relational Therapy?

As a counsellor based in Ipswich, my approach to therapy is Integrative, which at it's core is a relational approach to therapy.. This means that our work together will centre on the therapeutic relationship we build, using it as a lens to understand the struggles and emotional challenges you're currently facing.
Relationships form the foundation of our lives. How we interact with others, whether at home, work, or in wider society, plays a vital role in our overall well-being. Relational therapy recognises that many of our emotional patterns and difficulties are shaped by past and present relationships. By exploring these dynamics in a safe and supportive environment, we can begin to untangle unhelpful behaviours and work towards healthier, more fulfilling connections.

How does relational therapy work?
In relational therapy, the bond we form becomes a valuable mirror, helping us identify patterns in the way you relate to others. Therapy provides a secure space where you can express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly, without fear of judgment.

I use a combination of therapeutic methods including psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and existential approaches, tailoring our work to suit your unique needs and goals. Therapy sessions can be held in-person in Ipswich or online, depending on what works best for you.
